Work to improve the Great Field is set to start later this autumn.
First will come a whole set of footpaths and a track that can be used by runners, for events such as Park Run.
Next year will see 450 trees being planted and a massive 26,000 shrubs as well as a widflower meadow!
Then will come an expanded Play Area for younger children plus a Parkour area.
This massive project is the result of a successful partnership between the Duchy of Cornwall, the Town Council and WDDC. When the work is finished the Town Council will takeover the long-term management of the Field.
