Gillian Pearson – for Broadmayne & Crossways Ward
Gillian has served on Osmington Parish Council since 2011 and has been involved in a number of local concerns, including helping to take forward the Osmington Community Plan. One aspect of this is promoting the survival of the parish church by diversifying its role in the community and another is seeking to improve the safety of pedestrians and cyclists on the A353 at Osmington Hill. Prior to retirement, Gillian was a secondary school teacher of English and Media Studies. Her primary interest in wanting to serve on WDDC is to support efforts to make the Council more open and democratic.

Melissa Lane – for Puddletown Ward
Melissa has lived locally for sixteen years. She is a primary school teacher who has previously worked at Bere Regis and is currently Assistant Director of the Dorset Teacher Training Partnership working with trainee teachers across the county. Mel is the wife of County Councillor Andy Canning and they have one 17 year old son. “If elected I would prioritise getting more affordable housing for local families to help them continue living here,” she said. “I would work to protect vital local services such as bus routes, local pubs and village shops. I also believe that it is important for our children to have better play facilities.”
