Dorchester residents have given a clear indication that while they support the principles of the Dorchester Transport and Environment Plan the current detailed proposals are totally unacceptable.  The response to the County Council’s consultation showed 55% in favour of the principles to 33% against but a whopping 73% opposed to the detail!  What DCC need to do now is go away and look at the alternatives put forward by residents then run the traffic and air pollution computer models again.  If they can find another way to meet the principles then a new proposal will be put to the public again this autumn.  If they can’t find a better solution than DTEP is over.
