The collection of recycling and rubbish in Dorchester and the villages to the east and north of the town will change completely in March 2014. Most people will be given a brown plastic bin for the weekly collection of food waste, a large wheelie bin with a green lid for the fortnightly collection of paper, tin and plastic and a medium sized wheelie bin for the fortnightly collection of waste that can’t be recycled (you’ll keep your existing green bin for glass). If you don’t have the outside space for these wheelie bins or need different sizes or you don’t think you can physically cope with moving the new bins please contact www.dorsetforyou.com/recyclefordorset or phone (01305) 221040 before October 18th and alternative arrangements will be made for you. This is good news as, at last, both food waste and plastic will be collected for recycling which will boost recycling rates to over 65%!
