Dorset County Council is reviewing its support of local bus services with the intention of making a final decision at County Cabinet on November 6th.
At the moment they are opting for the removal of support from all evening, Sunday and Bank Holiday services and all but the busiest Saturday services.
This will have a devastating effect on the local bus network.
Here is what this means for local bus services:
1, 2 and 6 – Dorchester town services – Saturday service withdrawn
74/74A – Dorchester to Yeovil – Saturday service withdrawn
101 – Dorchester to Crossways – Saturday service withdrawn
103 – Dorchester to Wool – all services withdrawn
183 – Weymouth to Blandford – replaced by new service 20 that will run from Dorchester to Blandford via Puddletown; no Saturday service
212 – Dorchester to Yeovil – Saturday service withdrawn
216 – Dorchester to Yeovil – Saturday service withdrawn
307 – Dorchester to Marnhull – Saturday service withdrawn
311 – Dorchester to Blandford – Saturday service withdrawn
387 – Dorchester to Poole – replaced by new service 36 that will run from Dorchester to Blandford via Puddletown, Tolpuddle and Bere Regis; no Saturday service and no service beyond Bere Regis to Poole
If you want to express your views on these proposals you can write to Cllr Spencer Flower, the Leader of Dorset County Council, and Cllr Hilary Cox who is the Cabinet Member for the Environment, at Dorset County Council, Colliton Park Dorchester, DT1 1XJ.
