The Conservative-run District Council has withdrawn its plans to allow the building of 1,000 new houses at Came View by Dorchester.  At last they have listened to the views of local people.  I would like to thank the hundreds of residents who wrote letters, completed surveys and signed petitions and in particular the Save Came View Campaign, the Thomas Hardy Society, the William Barnes Society and local Parish Councils.
