Dorchester and West Dorset Learn more

I am pushing for the problems caused by the flooding of the West Stafford by-pass to be dealt with as soon as possible. One of my first actions as a County Councillor has been to meet with senior Officers to discuss what can be done. They have agreed to widen and clear out the drainage gullies but the low lying setting of part of the road makes a long-term solution costly and difficult to achieve. In the meantime the Council has agreed to repair the damage caused to nearby roads by diverted lorries and for hazard signs to be put up around West Stafford if lorries are diverted through the village again.
