In spite of both my best efforts and those of Crossways Parish Council, WDDC’s Planning Committee this afternoon approved plans to build 95 new houses on land by Frome Valley Road.  This is in spite of Crossways already getting 500 houses to the south of Warmwell Road and possibly up to 600 by Moreton.  District Councillors were just not prepared to listen even though they’ve already agreed large scale development at Crossways and even though this site is outside the villages’ defined development boundary.  This just confirms my view that most Conservative Councillors are just too pro-development even on greenfield sites and that they aren’t willing to listen to the concerns of local residents.
