At last a plan is to be drawn up by the Highways Team at DCC to tackle the state of the verges by McDonalds at Monkeys Jump.  The size of the potholes and the indiscriminate way people have been parking is just not acceptable.  Ideally McDonalds would expand the size of their car park but at present the neighbouring landowners are unwilling to let them have the additional land.  I have been pressing for a solution for years and have finally got somewhere.  A scheme is to be devised to use recycled material to strengthen the verges next to the car park so that they will be able to withstand the usage they’re getting and in addition more bollards will be deployed to stop people parking further down the road.  While this is not ideal DCC have a very limited budget and this should at least stop the area being such an eyesore.
